Sheppard and Special Olympics of Ontario will be hosting a Volunteer Fair
here at Adam Scott for the upcoming Provincial School Championships which is
being held here in the city of Peterborough May 29th, 30th and
31st. They will be set up in the main foyer during lunch to hand out
flyers and answer any questions. The goal is to hold this
volunteer fair in hopes we get some Adam Scott students to jump on board and
volunteer. If a student wishes to volunteer they will need to come to the
COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER JOB FAIR to start their Criminal Records Volunteer
Screening check. This is taking place on Saturday February 24th at St
Petes from 9am to 12pm. There is no charge to the students to complete
this process. Each volunteer will have to provide 2 pieces of ID.
One piece of ID must have their address on it. Special Olympics Ontario
will provide a letter to go with their application for the screening. At
the end of our provincial championships the Police will provide a letter of
reference to all of the volunteers for their support of the Games of
2018. This is also a great way for students to get their school volunteer
hours. Teachers, parents, grandparents and school staff may
also volunteer as well. Please pass this on to anyone you think may be
interested in being part of this great experience. Thank you and if you
have any questions please feel free to contact Nick Sheppard.
